Up to $7,500 in Supports
Taking Care of Business is intended to help businesses and enterprising Not-For-Profits that have been impacted by the permanent mill closure in Vavenby, BC with up to $7,500 in reimbursement for specialized training, coaching and/or consulting services.
- 100% reimbursement for self-identified training that leads to ongoing sustainability of the business. Training that has started, been paid for, and completed between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021 is eligible.
- Training funding may be used (either wholly or in part) to work with Business Coaches and Consultants.
- Organizations with significant impacts (ie: forestry supply chain) can apply for additional funding.
The program is available to businesses and enterprising Not-For-Profits operating in the Community Futures Thompson Country service area:
- Black Pines
- Blue River
- Chinook Cove
- Chu Chua
- Heffley Creek
- Little Fort
- Louis Creek
- Monte Creek
- Monte Lake
- Paul Lake
- Pinantan Lake
- Sun Peaks
- Turtle Valley
- Wells Grey
Although all businesses and enterprising Not-For-Profits affected by mill closure are eligible, the program is intended to prioritize those businesses most-impacted – i.e. supply-chain businesses.
STEP 1 – SIGN UP
STEP 2 – Demonstrate that you are a business or an enterprising Not-For-Profit – application will be emailed once you have signed up.
STEP 3 – Apply to get reimbursed, access online workshops, request peer mentoring support or request additional resources.
