Our 40th Anniversary celebration during Small Business Week was one for the books, and it is all thanks to the incredible people who make our community what it is.
From our amazing vendors and inspiring guest speakers to our dedicated team and supportive partners, and most importantly, our entrepreneurs and community members, we couldn’t have done it without you.
As we reflect on 40 years of supporting local business, here are a few incredible highlights from across the Community Futures British Columbia network this past year:
- $44 million in business loans disbursed (2024–2025)
- $1.6 million invested in skills development for entrepreneurs
- 3,365 jobs are maintained right here in our province
In other exciting news, BDC (the bank for Canadian entrepreneurs) and the Community Futures Network of Canada have joined forces to launch a new $100 million initiative aimed at expanding access to financing and advice for rural entrepreneurs across the country.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate 40 years of empowering small businesses and building vibrant communities; congratulations to Shelagh Pemberton on your retirement and to Ken White after many years as a dedicated Board member.
Thank you to our vendors: Sage & Plate Private Dining and Catering, Wild Flour, The Commodore Grand Cafe & Lounge, Happy Occasions Kamloops, and Be Our Guest Kamloops.
