This workshop is intended for leaders and/or privacy officers in BC-based private or non-profit organizations. It will cover the basics of privacy law and related practices.

  • If you are a private or non-profit organization in BC, you should have a privacy officer.
  • In many circumstances your clients have a right to know about the personal information you collect about them.
  • By making your organization aware of its obligations related to collecting, using, and disclosing your customers’ information, you can reduce your risk of fines and/or liability.

  • Standard practices and procedures around collecting, using, and disclosing personal information.
  • An overview of requirements for advertising or fundraising campaigns.
  • When someone requests information from your organization.
